Name Sign Size Guide
Our name signs come in eight sizes, from 10 to 80 cm. Here's how the sizes work, and how to pick the right one for the space you have in mind.
How our sizes work
Every size sets the most your name can measure: a maximum width and a maximum height. We scale the name up until it reaches whichever limit comes first. We never stretch or squash the letters, so every name keeps the proportions of the font.
- Long names reach the width first. Florence or Muhammad will be the full width of the size you choose, and shorter than the maximum height.
- Very short names reach the height first. El or Jo will be the full height, and narrower than the size you choose.

Which size for which space?
These are good starting points rather than rules. A bigger sign makes more of a statement; a smaller one feels more delicate.

Measure before you order
- Mark the width on the wall with masking tape, then step back and look at it from the doorway.
- Over furniture, a sign about two thirds of the width of the cot, bed or chest below usually looks balanced.
- On a door or a box, choose a size a few centimetres narrower than the flat area, so the name has space at each end.
